What are your local rules for fire water piping?
These rules are common and they have guidelines in them.

Don't think it's in any code as there are too many variables, but I've rarely seen one less than 4".

Look in the NFPA regs?

Depends on flowrate and length.

It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. (Sherlock Holmes - A Scandal in Bohemia.)

Appreciate all responses from your side. in the local codes there is no specific requiremnets to it. and NFPA-24 specify it should based on hydraulic claultions, or 6 inch minimum if feeds hydrants, etc.
for that i asked may be there is any other sections in NFPA mentioned this point.

The is a specific NFPA forum under Engineering codes.

Try a search in that forum or ask the same question there but link to this one as well.

But if you have a facility that needs a ring main 6 inch sounds good to me.
