FIRE TEST SETUP FOR VALVES NORMALLY DONE AT SPECIAL
LABS AND PRESSURE SIDE, BURNERS, FRONT CLOSURE.
COMPUTER WITH TEST PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE/TIME DEVICES
ALSO SPLIT SCREEN TV ON ONE SIDE AND LEAKAGE ON THE
OTHER, STOP WATCH BY KEYBOARD, TEST CODE BELOW TV.
FIRESAFE TESTED VALVE WILL HAVE INDICATION LIKE
RED COLOR FROM METAL HEAT AROUND 1200F FOR INSTANCE,
THERMOCOUPLE WIRES ON TOP, PRESSURE PROBE OF CAVITY
ON TOP, THERMOCOUPLE BLOCKS BELOW AND TO FRONT OF VALVE.
TESTING LEAKAGE AFTER TEST IS REQUIRED.
VALVE NEEDS TO BE IN PARTIAL OPEN POSITION.
COLLECTED LEAKAGE MEASURED IN CALIBRATED FLASK.
ALL VALVES MUST BE FIRESAFE TESTED.

THERE ARE SOME EFFECTS OF FIRE ON VALVES?
SOFT GOODS BURN OUT
LINE PRESSURE MOVES COMPONENTS TO MATING METAL PART.
METAL/HIGH TEMP SEAL CONTAINS PRESSURE.
LEAKAGE MUST BE TESTED ALSO AFTER TEST, VALVES
MUST BE IN PARTIAL OPEN POSITION.
FIRESAFE TESTING PROCEDURES ARE VERY CRITICAL AND
MUST MEET THE FIRE ENVIRMMENT FOR GOOD TESTING.
ANY CHANGES IN DESIGN MUST BE DONE AND RETESTED.
