Anyone know of any other firewall sealant? I'm told the following are currently unavailable (I am as usual VERY skeptical of that statement, but I don't work in purchasing)

PPG P/S 700
PPG PR-812
Chem Seal CS1900

Thanks,
John

Let's be a little cautious here. If you are sealing a firewall (i.e. something designed to contain a fire), you have to meet certain criteria. High temp sealants may not meet the criteria.

Look at AC 20-135 for some good info on the subject.

The Dapco products are an equivalent, thanks for the info. I think Dapco 2200 is the closest, but thanks for leading me to that.

I guess I can create yet another engineering change for the benefit of purchasing. It's amazing how I can make a few phone calls and usually find whatever product purchasing claims the world has run out of.

Tablor -

Having worked at an airline, I agree with you on your statement about making a few calls and finding what I want.

Our purchasing folks had a set list on who to call for what (ie Boeing for MS hardware, etc). If it wasn't on the list and they couldn't find it, it didn't and never did exist. They would throw up their hands and give up.

After much grief, I had them add one thing to their list - GOOGLE.
