Good day everybody. Im working on a Paramax 9000 gearbox installation and the scope of work (SOW) includes first fill. Now,the SOW doesn't say anything about flushing but we'll do it anyway. We are planning on filling it with 30 liters of oil, drain it and then fill it with the final 355 litters required. Does anybody have experience with flushing these type of equipment? Is there a standar quantity of oil to put into a reducer in order to clean it? I should add that the equipment is already bolted to the pulley and motor and that we don't have pump systems for flushing.

Thanks a lot for the help.

Turboprop

Please contact the manufacturer, follow their instructions. Not doing so could void warranty.

OT:
710 kW at 1500 RPM gives me 4.520 Nm.
So, the "MECH RATING" of 1270.9 obviously isn't the maximum torque.
Would it be the maximum power in kW?

The basic AGMA flushing procedure is to fill to normal fill level, operate under no load for a period of time, and drain while hot. Sumitomo may have different recommendations so contact them for instructions. But it seems pretty optimistic to need 30L to flush a 355L gearbox.
