Hello to All,
Flame arrestor and PVRV valve on the top of one of our oil storage tanks were found blocked. The tank releases H2S and the blockage material is mostly iron sulfides (quick test in our lab, waiting for full analysis results from one lab in Dubai).
Have any of you faced a similar case?
With regards to corrective actions, 1) would it be possible to treat the tank inlet with H2S scavenger (the tank roof, after opening, was also found corroded? 2) is it applicable to change the flame arrestor and PVRV with stainless steel material (maybe the inside reem only) and any precautions in this case with regards to possible galvanic corrosion?
Thanking you in advance for your support
