Accessories on vessels are generally proprietary, why should they follow any code?

You seem to be modifying an existing vessel on the recommendation of Environment Engg / Process. A google search could be helpful.

Kumar, im with Sen, you are a bit lazy ;-) Try google "flame arrestor standard". Theres a ASTM standard right at the top. WRT to code then this will depend on your geographical location. But the standard i a place to start.
