Hello,

We need to connect API 6BX flanges to ansi pipe. we have thinked use transition pieces but we saw in your web page that api 6A no longer specify these transition pieces. It means that it is not a good practice use these transitions pieces, in this case how can we connect api 6BX flanges with standard pipe?

Thanks in advance.

Hello jbeckhou,

I would like to know if we can weld API 6BX flange 2-1/16" to 2" pipe, there is a 14.376 mm of misalignment in the outside diameter.

In the attachment you can see a sketch. (A=14.376/2=7.188mm)

thanks

You need to fit the flange end to match the pipe size. Taper the bore from 2.06 to the pipe ID. I can draw the flange for example, if needed.

jbeckhou,

Thanks for the information. If you can draw an example, I would appreciate it.

But I have several doubts, if I fit weld necks that match standard pipe sizes. Can Flanges bear Api monogram?

And I can fit welding neck of the flange but there is a slice of pipe "A" in the drawing (inside diameter) that it could be a point of corrosion. I don't know if it is better go to a transition piece to avoid these problems

Thanks Jason,

The drawing is very helpful. Only one question more, the drawing is an API 6B 5000 psi flange. Can we do the same for a API 6BX 10000 psi flange?.

Thanks
