Does anybody know how to work out the Cycles to failure of an accumulator/pressure vessel?

An alternative to ASME or PD5500?

You could try API-579. Why would you not want to do this type of analysis to ASME or PD5500?

I am just looking for alternatives really.

Baically I have looked at many variations. It is more to do with the flaring stress side of things on a threaded Cylinder (Pressure Vessel) I am looking for?

Anyone have any ideas? Does this always involve the natural log value?

Thanks

Where the e value = 2.718281828.....

I think I know what the natural log is...

Usually though, one takes the natural log of some value (usually a non-dimensional number). What is it that you are taking the natural log of (w.r.t. your fatigue analysis)?

Well we had an e value in an equation that we were using. At first we were putting the e value in as the wall thickness of the cylinder, but apparently this was wrong so we were told to put e as 2.7182818 every time?!?! This seems wrong to me, what should we be taking the natural log of?

You're going to have to be a bit more helpful. What equation are you refering to? What exactly are you trying to calculate? Details - we need details...
