I was wondering if any of you folks could check the tooth thickness and pin measurement values for this program i wrote. I hope I am not asking too much. Here are the output results. I spent a lot of time writing it, so I would like to be able to use it with confidence
Thanks in advance
Jim

i got it. If any of you need to design a flat root spline, here is the program. It comforms to ansi 92.2 , and is dead on. To use it properly you will have to enable manual & iterative calculations under formulas in excel

Batter2979,
Thanks for attaching the excel spread sheet.
It looks like you put a lot of work into it.
I kind of wonder if both parts are at Max Material
Condition, if you can assemble them without interference
or press fit.

It took quite a bit of work. And by the way. DO NOT USE THE MACHINIST HANDBOOK FOR A SPLINE. Buy the std. I found numerous typos within the section that if i did not have reference spline data from 92.2 the calculations would have never been correct. Max material is specified by the tol's on the data. By definition, you pick the class of fit H.G.F.E...etc. And no there is not a press fit for this type of spline. It is a flat root side fit. You would want a major dia fit spline if you wanted that sort of thing.
