hello guys, as per UHX14.2, the two tubesheets ( fixed and floating) shall have the same thickness and material.
however in my case the design temperatures at stationery side is different (i.e. 500 deg. C) from what i am having at floating end (288 deg. C) and the tube length is 18000 mm from tubesheet face to face.
what i am looking for is can I use the lesser thickness of floating tubesheet from the stationary tubesheet. if yes then please guide me through it.

Best Regards, Zain

Strictly speaking, within the scope of Part UHX, no. If not obligated to meet Part UHX, then you may use TEMA tubesheet design rules, two different UHX runs, or other means per U-2(g).

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

THANKS MIKE, that's why PV elite never put an error for different thicknesses but codeware compress never allows anyone to put different thicknesses.

SyedZainAli, it's just software, you are the engineer :)
