I have a problem in which the fluid is power steering fluid. I'm using Flotran. My model Geometry is all in (mm). My solution is generating very high pressure values and also diverging. Can anyone give the units in which my pressure, velocity, density, and viscosity should be in. Also can any one help me with density and viscosity of any ATF (brand not important)at 40C or 50C.

Many thanks,

S Semssar

you convert model in to meters using scaling down the model and apply all propperties in SI units dencity kg/cu.m,velocity m/sec etc. Then you will get results in pascals.if you want to know the units in SI ,serach in ansys help ,units as key word. Surya Prakash

besides Surya's help,

if you run a thermal solution
(i.e. if the temperature DOF is activated)
so that you can uttilize thermal boundary conditions
to see how flow field temperatures vary under a given
thermal setting of the product analysed

you need also to set the reference temperature
(under fluid environment menu entry) if you want
to use e.g. Celsius or e.g. some anglo-saxon instead
of the default Kelvin scale
