Flue Gas pressure drop

Hi all,

I'm struggling to find literature that addresses the calculation of pressure drop trough superheaters and economisers. I only manage to find literature that is related to small geometrical setups, such as Kays&London. Any help would be appreciated for I need the total draught group resistance to characterise the FD en ID fans.

Why don't you contact the manufacturer of your boilers/economizers? They will be your best and quickest route.
 
There are other factors to be considered. Structural reinforcement - stiffeners- used inside the flue and casing can lead to high local velocities and high DP. Dampers and bypasses to allow low load use of the SCR also add DP.

For accurate prediction, some people use scale models ( Nels lab) or 3D CFD, but accurte representation of the stiffeners is mandatory.

large Margins are added to ID fans- to account for firing off design fuel, high XS air operation, fouling, higher than design gas temp, etc.
