fluent for catia

we are trying install a demo of fluent

now i run under xp
and they cannot have it run
so
not any trust in this software
for catia
i thought i inform you about the problems they having

make sure it's for the specific release of catia.. the r15 does not install under r16

The CATIA V5 pre-requisites are MD2, GPS, FMS, and FMD.
If you don´t have one FLUENT fails.
Other reason could be the license, it runs with FLEXLM.
Wich is the error message when you try to run it????

i have all these license and also in flexlm
so its there
only when in fleunt for catia it says cannot find license

It seems to be a problem with flexlm,
do you have more than one software using services from flexlm?
Try to start the fluent service and reread the license file in the LMTOOLS(if you have more thann one service in flexlm stop all before doing it)

keaser i tried what you said
disabled all others
in flexlm
only luent lincense
so license in flexlm is there but still get in catia

error "license request failed"

i think it does not run under xp

It runs under xp, i think your only problem is the license server, may be the version of flexlm or simply flexlm doesn`t get the license file.
wich is the flexlm´s version???

and in flexlm you see the lisence so its there
only fluent does not see it

try to reinstall keeping only the fluent license active

i did a reinstall of fluent as stated
no change
still does not work!

check that the environment settings are correct for the license file.

something like lic_file=1356@server
or licfile=c:\flexlm\fluent.dat
see the installation instructions.


usually if you follw them to the letter you will have no problems.

the environment is ok
