Fluid Mechanics for Valve Engineers

I am looking to brush up on my Fluid Mechanics training and specifically focus on valve engineering theory. I have looked at a few colleges in the area with the thought of auditing a course, but if they offer Fluid Mechanics at all, the focus seems to be in the aeronautical direction. Maybe that's where all the glamour and research money is.

Does anyone know of a Fluid Mechanics curriculum that would be liquid flow orientented and valve / piping applicable?

When does a 3-way valve is placed at the supply line of a coil and when does a 3-way valve is placed at the return line of a coil? What is the differance of these situations?

Check the chemical engineering classes for the fluidics class.

Cilek got lost and needs to start a new thread - with an explanation of the question. What coil? Is this a batch reactor using hot and cold water for a temperature bath?
