I am running NX12 and would like to produce a fly-through video of a 3D model.
There is no animation or interaction of moving components, I just want to generate a short movie like a 360° walk around.
I have used the very old "create animation" command but apart from being difficult to use the final image output is really low quality.
Does any one know if there is a better way to do this in NX or of any other software (preferably free!) that can import a 3D model and then generate this type of video?

Thanks

You can record Video in NX (output is quit good). I would just do that and manipulate my model (using a 3D Mouse maybe) to get the desired result.

you can import your models into a program called Blender. It has a bit of a learning curve, but it is a rendering software. We use 3Ds max for nice render videos.

You can also use the built-in Fly-through feature (View - Navigate - Fly-through). It's pretty rudimentary, but you can use it to pan through or around a model, and record a video of that.
