Referencing a previous thread "Cut Conditions for Mild Steel"
First of all I am a pretty new operator that mainly has experience in cutting thinner material (0.23-.097). I now am cutting up to .5 inch on an Amada FO-4020.
my cut is super jagged on the edges. This machine is new to the company, however is not new by any means. I believe the mirrors either need to be cleaned or replaced.
I just can not seem to convince my superiors. So I am trying to find any data on cutting conditions and track my progress. The Post I referenced is where I have
questions. The post has mentioned focal +.05 but another says I need to have a negative(Convex/Concave) I am just not sure where to being with trying to find out what negative
I need.
1/2 HRS
Feed Rate: 45.00 Pwr: 4000 Freq: 2000(Don't think this matters bc of Duty) Duty: 100 GasP: 0.08 Nozzle Gap: .03 Focal: - 0.217
Bottom line is that I am exhausting all other options before I move to the next step which is the mirrors. I really appreciate any and all assistance.
This Forum has been quite a lifesaver!
