Hi
Just looking at the way you mentioned getting a number out of the partname in the post above, which is closed now. I was wondering if you could explain if there is a way to pull this number from a text file that resides on your computer instead of the current part you are in using expressions?

The NX expression function: "ug_cell_read" will read a value from a spreadsheet. I don't know of any similar expression function that will read values from text files. However, there are commands to import/export expressions from/to a text file. If your text file follows the proper format, you could import the values into the part's expression collection. Once the value(s) are stored as expressions, you can manipulate them as shown in the other thread.
