OG here. Thanks. There still is a saved LST hanging around either Memphis or up the Mississippi and into Penna as a museum . .. After the war it was used by some in Greece for freight and was then bought beck to states where a group of former LST sailors restored it. Many of those old sailors spent a lot of time there fixing it up. A group of old guys from LST 845 kept the group together for at least two reunions. Being a former Navy officer I could not get these sailors from still calling me Mr. We were a fun group in service and later. Skin on those were no more than 3/8" so fatigue took a few to the sea bottom.
