Does anyone know of a design resource for a steel column embedded in a concrete drilled pier? See the attached sketch. I need to transfer the bending moment and shear from the column to the pier. As far as I know there were no shear studs to transfer forces.

Nowadays, I think that I'd be looking to the research and design provisions surrounding the use of steel coupling beams in concrete shear walls: Link. The big question is what's the effective flexural embedment depth and the coupling beam stuff provides an answer to that I think.
