Form Work for 6' Wall. Formboard Joints 1

This is the first time I designed formwork, and I got my hands on a text that explained the process thoroughly. I designed my wall and ordered the lumber but the crew that will be building the wall have not seen plans laid out in this fashion so now I figure I might have to order more lumber for stiff backs, no big deal just an admission of an error my part. However, reading through the text I believe I set it up one of the examples so now I am curious if this lay out would work as designed. Here is the issue: I need stiffbacks on 12" centers and I laid them out and got a quantity that the form boards would join together on the same 2x4 stiffback, like drywall. The crew says they always, limited experience but still after raising the concern I tend to agree, have built forms with a 2x4 stiff back at the end of each panel and then screw those together where your formboards come together. That gives you a full 1.5" of 2x4 for the formboard to bear against and 3/4" of edge distance for your screw vs 3/4" for the panel edge to push against and 3/8" edge distance. Anywall builders or designers care to inform me. Thanks!

Your crew is being practical.

The joint is a hinge. It will work better and faster as the crew noted. No point in saving $2 in materials and costing $10 in labor. You're not building a clock.

You guys are right, I'm over thinking it and not wanting to be wrong. I'm just going to get up early get the layout corrected and get some more boards. Thanks

And if the wall is exposed, you might think about 'taping' the joints to prevent a vertical joint mark.
