Hi guys
I know this is probably a question you will smile at when you read it, but it is very important for me to find out the answer for it.
When you are creating a forming section, you have a punch and a die. It is obvious, that the clearance between those two is usually the material thickness. What I'm trying to find out is, when it comes to radiuses, how do you calculate those clearances? Is there any formula for that, or even better, do you know any web site I can find this informations? Also, if you are relieving the outside diameter of the radius on the female <die>, how do you do it? The only way how I figured is that you "push" the rad further into the"corner" because if you just make it bigger, it is not going to be tangent with the line of forming anymore. Can you please give me some more informations on this?
