Hello

I am presently designing a new formwork system for slab support and wall support. Product design is complete and am now looking for a software that could work with this system. Is there a common software which could be adopted for this system or if someone knows any company which can develop the software for us.

There exists several software packages for wall form panel layout - most are proprietary (associated with a particular manufacturer). I only know of one European software package that works with a variety of manufacturers equipment. See the link.

What little software I've seen for slabs is hardly worth the cost - it just ain't easy to write the 'how to use' rules into code. Somehow the experienced human brain just seems to work better.

The ACI has a couple of excellent excel spreadsheet programs for designing wall and slab formwork. They are free.

I know that some of the ACI members have developed Excel spreadsheets for formwork designs, but I just search ACI's website and was unable to find anything. Perhaps for options01's benefit you could include a link to the web page on ACI's site.

I think you need to clarify the purpose of the software that you are looking for. What I linked to was software for layout of modular forming systems.

dik's links are to design software for job-built plyform & lumber formwork. BTW dik, I had reviewed an earlier version of the horizontal formwork design some years ago. It works okay, but I question how suitable it is for the industry as all-lumber formwork & shoring is slowly fading from use.

I don't know why it linked all the other excel sheets and I've posted a query in the spreadsheet forum. The program is a good place to start and you can modify the data to reflect any type of framing. It does provide the methodology quite well.

Thanks guys for your suggestions and links.

I have designed the formworks systems for walls and slabs which are similar to systems marketed by companies like Peri, Hunnebeck etc. These companies have an inhouse software which calculates the bill of quantity, gives the layout of components and does the load calculations for each particular project. The layout and bill of quantities are then used to prepare the quotes...

my purpose is to market my products and hence i need a software which could be adopted to my system and produce the required layouts etc for any particular project ..

if you guys can help , please show me the right direction ...all suggestions/references shall be highly appreciated.
