Hello my friends:

I want to use Abaqus subroutine (User defined field variable)in my model, however i am not familiar with FORTRAN. So i need to learn FORTRAN first, so what release of FORTRAN should i learn? is it FORTRAN 77? I am asking this question because i know that there are newer releases of FORTRAN.

Thank you
Chen

Fortran 77 will suffice. However, you need to install C++ libraries (or, more convenient, Visual Studio), Intel Fortran compiler, and Abaqus - each of appropriate version - in that order! Visit the Simulia website for appropriate versions. And google for more on how to do the installation.
