The client wants to put the footing for a communication tower at the mid-slope of 15 degree slope. The soil is fine (silty) sand (eolian deposits), medium dense, with no groundwater at the footing influence zone. What are the risks. To combat potential future creep, can one suggest to the structural engineer that the underside of the footing be 1.5 to 2 m below the slope surface?
