hi,

i do a FEM analysis and i have an energy range in time, i want analysed it with fourier trasformation?

idea about type of software can i use?, matlab?

ecc

thank a lot

as IR asked, what do you think a fourier analysis will tell you ?

or differently, what do you want it to tell you ?

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?

what type of filter can i use?

is important the use of a filter?

can i use fft in matlab, or i can use another code or software for improve my analysis?

thanks

and ye, what do you think a fourier analysis will tell you ? about my problem

thanks

whilst it may not look like it, I think we're trying to help you.

before you do an analysis (in this case a fft) you should know what you want to get from it, what do you think it'll tell you about your problem ? instead of "and ye, what do you think a fourier analysis will tell you ? about my problem" you might have said "I need to verify the first mode, to ensure it is less/greater than the requirement, x Hz or x g^2/Hz".

Have you tried googling "fast fourier transform" ?

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?

Do you really need the "variation" part of it? If you just want to know the average energy content at different frequencies, google Power Spectral Density (PSD).
