Hello All,

Our client changed his mind and now he wants we follow european standard.
The freight elevator we required is C3 load class, so my questions are:

What is the equivalent EN standard?
What is the EN standard clasification equivalent to C3 load class ?

Thanks in advance!
Greetings

Dear HPost;

The inicial standard we uses is ASME A17.1S (supplement), section 2.16, paragraph 2.16.2 Minimum Rated load for Freight Elevators.
Quote: "Class C3: Other Loading With Heavy Concentrations. Where the static load during loading and unloading does not exceed the rated load."
The problem is the client wants a load class description equivalent or which covers that description in an European Standard.
I can't find that standard....

In the UK the governing standard is BS EN 81. This is a multi-part standard and you probably don't want/need to buy every part of it. In the UK an 'elevator' is known as a lift - knowing the local terminology will probably help in your search.
