French drain help, cut waffle membrane

I just had my French drains replaced in my basement.

Hired a guy to repair the walls that were cut and redo the tiles on the floor. My problem is that the idiot tile guy cut the waffle sheet at floor level all the way around the basement. So now all the weep holes are leaking onto the floor.

Can I just cut a gap along the wall and replace the cut sheets? Or would the seam cause leaks?

I really don't want to rip all that new work out

A side question for us. Why did you have to replace the French Drains? Plugged?

Many with your situation cut a wide slot in the floor, next to the wall to let seepage water get down to drains.

The real solution would be to install drains outside the footings (and properly filtered).

Sorry, but the term waffle sheet is not common here (Wisconsin). Explain.

I did a search on Google and come up with this as underlayment for floor tile. How does one replace a drain system under the floor without cutting the underlayment?

Perhaps a sketch of a cross section of the floor and walls might clear up things.
