Frequency (Waveform) Generator

I am looking for a site (or manufacturer) with information on frequency generators. I am looking to simulate European (50Hz) waveforms for testing equipment. Anyone with any info on this topic would be helpful.

Hi,

I am uncertain what your question is.

Do you require power at 50 Hz or just a 50 Hz signal ?.

If its the first, then I take it at your location you do not have 50 Hz mains and that you have something else 60Hz/120V maybe ?.
If so then you have a few options.

1. Convert your mains supply to DC (12/24V) then have an suitable inverter convert it back to AC of the frequency you require.
2. Use a motor generator/rotary converter set to convert 60Hz to 50 Hz power
3. Buy a 50 Hz elctric generator

The size & type above, of course depends on your power requirements. Are you testing transistor radios or electric cookers!!. There is a big difference in power requirements.
It also depends on the voltage at your location.

Sorry, I should have been more detailed. I need 50Hz power, not signal. Currently the client has a 56kVA rotary unit. They are looking for something in the 1-5kVA range. I do not however, know what it is they are testing. The voltage in the building will be 120/208V, 3phase, 4wire. I hope this helps.

Ok then how about frequency converters some are not up to 5KVA but is there the possiblity of more than one unit at different locations. (or does this thing their testing require the full 5KVA !)

(Thers is a 1.2KVA 110->220 50 Hz unit. The KVA rating is smaller but is there the chance they could have one per workbench ?)
