Can anyone point me to a reference with friction factors between polyethylene vapor barriers and different soils? I am specifically looking for polyethylene and SP sand.

Thanks!

Just my quick opinion, but I wouldn't think there'd be much to count on in any calculation....even if there was, I would think the variability of it would be high (lots of loose areas and an occasional dip in the subgrade acting as a key).

Thanks for the response.

I agree with you, but my client is specifically requesting it. I have seen anything from almost zero to 0.2 for polyethylene on SP sand. I was just wondering if anyone had a specific reference or experience that they could point out.

The PTI manual for design of post-tensioned slabs on ground has friction factors for various combinations. I don't have it with me or I'd check for you.
