Friction in Caesar

I am reviewing report with references to analysis done in Caesar.
Friction is involved and I am not sure if the author has applied friction correctly
My question is simple but I'm not finding a straight answer in the Caesar help text
Imagine a support where:
the Y direction is pipe normal contact with the support and
the X direction is free to slide
If you want the X direction to have a reaction due to friction (resist sliding up to Fy*Mu) then do you
a. assign Mu to X;
b. assign Mu to Y; or
c. assign Mu to both X and Y?
I don't have access to Caesar to test this myself.

Assign friction to the Y (vertical) support. In CAESAR II, friction acts in the "plane" normal to the restraint. Therefore in your model, you may end up with friction (restraint) loads in X and Z.
