From ODB, show difference in deformation?

Hi all, I'm back with a new problem.

I have the odb of a successfully completed restart run. I'd like to visualize the deformation in the final step, relative to the deformation at the start of the restarted model run, instead of relative to the initial step of the full (non-restart) model. Does anyone know if that's possible?

Cheers
Ralph

Create a new field output in viewer simply as the difference between the displacements. I think it's under 'tools'.

Hmmm, yes...that works, thanks. But it's not quite what I need. If can now visualize the deformation difference as a field value (color coded etc.), but what I really need it the 'Plot deformed shape' option. In the first steps (before restart, there's some deformation, which is not important for the results. After the restart, there's further deformation which is important. The deformation are however pretty small, so I want to use the increase 'deformation scale factor' to show it. However, with the deformation being compared to the initial state, the first (unimportant) deformation totally swamps the deformation I'm trying to show.

Still, thanks for the useful Hint. If I can't get what I was thinking of, then a color coded version will do.

With the displacements saved as a new field variable, can't you then plot that as a deformed shape?

Of course I can...damn, I feel stupid now. Thanks for the help.
