Hi all,

on completing a harmonics study on the LV side of a newly installed plant we now what to work out what harmonics levels are present on the HV side (both current, voltage and THD). the customer has their own transformer so they are only interested in what harmonics are present on the HV side as this is what the electricity provider is concerned with. can anyone point me in the right direction regarding the calculations please?

Sorry for bumping this to the top. Can anyone help?

Have you looked at the standard IEC 61000-3-6? There are formulae within that will assist.

The harmonic in % on the HV side will be the same as the LV side, exept if you have delta transformer, it will cancel the triplen IF they are zero sequence.

harmonic are exactly like the fundamental, if they are positive or negative sequence, they will pass the transformer without any problem.
