maybe 2+ hours isn't enough time for someone who knows the answer to respond ?

and please, don't SHOUT.

It is in Machinery's Handbook.

"Wildfires are dangerous, hard to control, and economically catastrophic."
"Fixed in the next release" should replace "Product First" as the PTC slogan.

Which gage length are you referring to? The most common would be the point at which the threads first engage.

You can make a gage for any feature of the thread. What are you trying to measure?

ACTUALLY I WANT TO MEASURE THE TOTAL LENGTH OF THE THREADS ON THE BSPP FIXED FEMALE, BSPT FIXED FEMALE, BSPP SWIVEL FEMALE BSPT SWIVEL FEMALE, BSPP MALE & BSPT MALE ADAPTORS.
I HAVE REFERED THE MACHINERY'S HANDBOOK 27 TH ADITION BUT I WAS NOT ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THE WORD 'BASIC GAGE LENGTH' IF YOU CAN GIVE ME THE PROPER DETAILED DRAWING OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED ARTS WITH THREAD LENGTHS ACCORDING TO BRITISH STANDARDS THEN ITS BETTER FOR ME. I'M NOT ABLE TO SPEND MONEY ON THE ORIGINAL STANDARDS REFERENCE BOOKS WHICH ARE AVAILABLE FROM STANDARDS.

I think you would be much better off buying some standard taper and thread gages. You can probably get a set for under a $100 US.

Are you trying to measure this with a ruler? Are you trying to measure useful threads or are you including lead marks?

Barry1961

at the moment i'm measuring it with vernier caliper but i want to specify it according to british standard. so if you can give me the british standard length of threads of the bspp fixed female, bspt fixed female, bspp swivel female bspt swivel female, bspp male & bspt male adaptors that will be much more help full to me

Consult the federal standard h28 handbook
for information that you need or the
Machineries Handbook. Unluckily the
handbook shows number of turns of thread
and I would assume that this would apply
to a gage or a male thread. Is this not
acceptable?
