Garbage Truck and Semi-Cab Dimensions

Are there any standard window height and mirror projection for garbage trucks. I am evaluating the feasibilty of a driver reaching a pneumatic tube conveyor carrier (similar to a bank teller operation)for paperwork and potential funds transfer. The location is planned with high and low carrier tube stations for cars/pickups and larger vehicles; however, I am still not convinced the drivers of the 'high' vehicles won't be swinging like primates on the mirror supports trying to reach these things. I have an assistant at the old facility today measuring a sampling of vehicles; has anyone seen reference material that might offer a range of dimensions? Semi-cabs are also used to haul refuse in tractor-trailier style rigs for long haul from transfer stations.

just stumbled on your post - each of the truck manufacturers publish a Body Builders manual which provides pertinent dimensions. A trip to an aftermarket body installer would help (he'll have a library). Another good place to look is to the engineering department of the packer manufacturers (e.g., McNeilus, Leach, etc).

All of that being said, I would probably recommend an overhanging roof to keep the driver dry and go with a standard tube type system. In order to be usable from the cab it will need to come up almost directly behind the mirror.
