Recently the company I am working for asked me to find the cost of that we use when using different nozzles on our 3040 laser cutter. We have used a regular nozzle of about 2.7 mm in diameter and also have used a highspeed nozzle and a economic nozzle. each of these nozzles have different diameters and properties associated with how quickly they work and how much nitrogen they use. I can not seem to figure out how to go about calculating the gas consumption of each nozzle can any one please help.

I recommend connecting a full, high pressure bottle of nitrogen to the assist gas port and see how long it lasts while cutting.

The only problem we see with that is that we are constantly running our laser to get the most out of our day and also have lots of contamination problems already so we were just trying to see if there was a possible way to do it without changing up the machine to much

nozzle area x square root of pressure in bars =consumption in cubic meters
