Hi

I am connecting a 12" wafer check valve with a 12" ANSI 150 RF flange.
I need to use a custom gasket between these. How do I determine the dimensions of the gasket?

Thanks a lot @TugboatEng. I am seeing that the ID of the valve is quite smaller than the ID of the standard ring gasket. Will that pose any issue?

Don't see why you need a custom gasket?

Why do you think this?

Gaskets don't extend inside the ID of the pipe.

I'm assuming custom refers to the material choice.

If the check valve bore is substantially smaller than the flange inside diameter, I have to ask, are you using slip fit flanges?

Hi LittleInch,

The medium handled is corrosive. I want to avoid crevice corrosion from happening.

Using an RF flange you either need to use CRA or face the flanges with inconel or similar.

A gasket won't stop crevice corrosion.

IMHO.

For the corrosive fluid, is any special material or fabrication specified for the piping and valves?
