Hi all
I am new here. I have electric background and need some help with pump selection.
I have a set to transfer a viscous liquid from under a storage tank to a tubular cooler then to another storage tank.
The cooler requires 1000 Litres/hour capacity. So i used a gear pump with a 50Cm3/rev. (which i believe is 2800 Litres/hour) and a 945 RPM motor. Apparently the motor trips. I dpubt that the head is the problem but i understood that the positive displacement pumps are constant flow pump regardless of the head. However the head is approx. 6 meters and the pipe lengths is 50 meters.
I need to know how to select the motor for the gear pump application and whether the choice of this pump was correct or no
