Hi All,

I was wondering if I could get some feedback on the surface finish of gears as shown in the photo below? The gears are new and are carburized.

I am unsure what would cause this unusual surface effect? the gear in question is on the left.

Thanks

I don't see anything unusual. The wavy pattern is polishing of the high spots but I see no corrective pitting or unusual wear. As the gear wears in you'll likely see the surface polish become more even.

This is a close up view, is this considered normal on gears as a factory finish?

Please advise #Teeth, Diametral pitch, pressure angle, and AGMA grade, & surface finish required
