Hi all,

I need help deriving an equation for the efficiency of the gear train in terms of the output torque.

This train has fixed losses, input power, input and output speeds.

Any guidance welcome.

GSXR-750,

[η]=OUTPUT POWER/INPUT POWER

You have provided us no other information.

Sorry. I also have

efficiency = (Torque Output x Rpm output)/(Torque input x Rpm in) x 100

My gear train has 4 gears.
Input speed is 100rpm and output 400.
Input torque is 860.96 Nm.

GSXR-750,

Torque times speed is power. When you multiply by 100, you can a percentage instead of a fraction.
