Hi
I am choosing a low cost 3D CAD graphic card and accidentally found out that GeForce4 MX 460 has
"Triangles per Second" (38 vs. 21 millions) and
"Memory Bandwidth" (8.8 vs. 2.7 GB/Sec)
with bigger values than Quadro2 EX!? Im am confused because of their opposite cost numbers and also Quadro is considered as real 3D CAD card and GeForce is considered as gaming card.

Any experience?

Thanks, but Q2 is on this table whereas MX is not.
So I cannot decide by that table.
By the way, Maatrox is also marked on this table as
"green" but still it is not suggested at all.

Geforce MX cards are complete crap. A Geforce 3/TI4400 or 4600 is most likely a much better value, just look around.

Hi ! This will help you.

the Geforce an Quadro cards have the same core! Quadro mx have the same as GeForce mx , and quadro2 have the same as GeForce2 . Geforce 4 and the new professional cards from Nvidia have slightly different core, but not much.

The difference is on the driver side.

As it stands now, it is possible to get quadro performance from the geforce cards.

To learn more about this, look at this link, or search for "soft quadro hack" on the net.

Best of luck !
