Hello All,

Thank you in advance. I can't seem to fix the error I keep getting no matter ho many times I do a "Attempt to Heal all Faces" procedure. I must be missing something here I can't see. Any advice or website link will be helpful.

File is attached

Hi Cor,

Have you tried to reopen the file. I keep getting the same error over and over when re-opening it?

Joe,

Your file opens without error for me as well. I am only using SolidWorks 2011 SP4.0... I have attached the import settings that I used for opening the STEP. You can access yours through the open dialog box with the STEP file type selected and select the options button on the bottom of the open dialog box. Your import settings may be affecting the file (causing error) upon opening due to the settings.

Just a guess, but try it...

Take care & have fun!

File opens without a problem in SW 2014 SP3, are you trying to open it as a solid? sounds like you might be opening it as a surface in the options.

Can you send a screenshot of your screen to see what your seeing as well as your STEP options?

I found that if I use the "Import Diagnostics" upon import I see the same face info. If you don't use it, it opens fine and Tools\Check doesn't see the face issue afterwards. Try not using it and see if you get the same results.

Sorry for my late reply... been crazy around here lately.

Import diagnostics works fine for me too. Suggest to check your templates once. Are you using the default solidworks templates?

Hello Scott,

I did disable the Check function and the error did not show. Is this normal not to have it activated/not check?

Hello Stash,

When I created the sketch I used my own template, which is nothing more then settings to ANSI type and using MM or INCHES. When I saved as for the Step file I used don't recall needing a template for this.

Thank you both for your Great support.

Best Regards

Hello Scott,

Thanks again for your great support. I have a stupid question though- Duh :), if the part is bad the first time, will it let you know if you choose not to have the part checked when opening the Step file?
