I am designing a generator pad for a large generator and have a design question.

This generator is about 10ft wide and 31ft long. The unfactored weight with fuel is about 35kip and the factored (1.4) weight is 50kip.

Does anyone know of a specific design document that recommends the weight ratios for generator weight to slab weight due to dynamic loading? An ACI document or CRSI maybe?

Also, should this weight ratio be based on service loads or factored loads?

We generally have the weight of our concrete pads be twice the weight of our generator. Usually the generators are smaller though and reaching the concrete weight threshhold is not an issue. But this generator, the numbers are getting pretty big so I wanted to investigate further.

Thank you.
