What are good literatures on power generator protections besides IEEE Standars? Thanks a lot.

Have a look at faq238-1287 for some good protection texts.

I would highly recommend the book Protective Relaying for Power Generation Systems by Donald Reimert. This book goes into great detail on protection for generators more than some of the other protective relaying texts like Blackburn (even though that is still a classic). Below is a link

I am not sure if this is on David's list of reference but it is a good book if you are working in this specific area of power system protection.

Thanks for the link - hadn't seen that one before but will definitely keep an eye open for it. Maybe David will add it to the FAQ when he does the next update.

I thought I had that one in there already, but I guess not.

So, now I'll hijack this thread and ask, what else is the FAQ missing?

I would think the numerous Basler and SEL application guides / technical papers that are often referenced.

Schneider's Cahier Techniques series is very good.

Their electrical installation guide is useful for those of us in Europe (Did I really say that? I meant "Those of us located offshore near Europe" [tongue] ) It's also become a Wiki page rather than an in-house resource.

If we are including web references - which may be a good or bad thing! - then this site is a goldmine of the obscure, obsolete and the hard-to-find:
Should there be a separate FAQ for useful links, or is there a better way of presenting them?
