Hi all
I read that generator reactors are not commonly used in a power plant because :
a) If a bus-bar or feeder fault occurs close to bus bar then voltage in bus bar will be reduced to a very low value, causing generator to fall out of step
b) And if a fault occurs on any feeder, then continuity of supply to others will be affected.
Can anyone please explain.
Thanks in advance
PS: Generator reactors are used to increase %impedance and hence protect generators during any fault.
