Geometrical constraints in Drafting Module? 1

Hi everyone,

I am quite new to Catia. I am currently using a V5R20 version. I would like to know if it is possible to use constraints when you are in a drawing view. I see here is a guide:

but my problem is that I don't see the Geometrical Constraints tool in my toolsbar. I normally see it when I am in sketcher, but not when I am in drafting. Someone have any hints if there is possibility to show it also in drafting module?

Yes, drafting has the Geometrical Constraints tool.
If it is not shown, you need to bring it by Customize option...
But I still do not understand what you want to do...……..
Why do you need to constrain geometry in 2D?

yes i was able to bring it there too.
Actually I found out it's not really essential for me. When you activate the view, you can draw any line/point/circle you need, constrain it to the geometry (automatically highlighting to a green colour by def) and then hide/delete it. I found this method very useful!

Actually I have another question related to this: when you create a point/line in an activated view, you have the possibility to right click and 'fix' it. Why would you need it? I see that, when the view is activated, all geometry are moving together all the same.

Actually I have another question related to this: when you create a point/line in an activated view, you have the possibility to right click and 'fix' it. Why would you need it?

To make it stay in one place despite being "driven" by a constraint.

I see that, when the view is activated, all geometry are moving together all the same.

Geometry is linked to view's axis system, that's why it moves when a view is moved.

Why do you need to constrain geometry in 2D?
What are you trying to do?

Cad2015 i was trying to add a line parallel to a a particular edge. My first approach was to use geom. constraints like in Sketcher but now I found out by working on it that you are not gonna need them actually. I see it's easier to draw lines on geometry / or parallel / or perpendicular, move them around and change their aspect/size. Just a different approach, I think I found my way. Ciao!
