Hi all

Im really struggling In ABAQUS regarding geometry
,and I hope I will find the solution with your help, actually I sleeve in a hollo-bolt which is cylinder in the upper part and flare in lower part, and I create the upper part using revolution and the lower part using revolution with rotation command latter, but the problem arise when I rotate the lower part, thus create a gap between them .So after merging them the gap still exist

1 . how can I tackle this problem in geometry
2.after merging the two shapes I can’t mesh them , and I receive a message to mesh the part manually,

Please do your best in helping me

You'd do better make a large cylinder that encomposed the inner cylider and outer radius of the flares and then cutting the true cylinder and flares from that shape. It would then be continuous and maybe meshable with brick elements.

Thank you very much

I was thinking about this, to use revolution for both the upper and lower part, but the curvature for upper and lower part will be differnt
And this will create a problem

Please guide me through this

I really need your help

Both upper and lower parts share the same axis of revolution, I presume. Create a single revolution, and then cut to make the final shape.
