This document is an excerpt from the Geotechnical report for the project. After reading the pdf, understanding what they are trying to build, and seeing the soils currently at the project site, it would be interesting to know what some of the geotechnical engineer’s concerns with the site might have been. What soils will cause problems, and which soils will be good to use in construction...? Is there any other information in this project that might be important/affect the overall design?

In the interest of having a more complete example from the same firm, I have uploaded the attached - retrieved from the Hampton City Document center. The boring logs in this report are similar to what I would expect at Wythe Creek Road in that the Yorktown Formation starts at about -7 feet and continues below the bottom of the borehole.
This location is about 6 miles from the Wythe Creek Road (Route 172) Widening Project
