Dear Forum,
we use the German version of NX4, and we're frequently facing a big trouble, which seems not be taken for serious by the UG support.
Believe me, for us it is.
So, my hope is to find people helping me with their support and maybe their personally connections to UGS.
We use the CAM Express Integration NX4 with Solid Edge (SE), latest versions.
Now the trouble we have is, with filenames using german "umlaut" (and we have several thousands of them):
way 1. Open file directly from SE into NX Gateway : -->error
way 2. Open file by using Button "Open SE File": -->error
way 3. Open File by using Button "Open File -> Filetype Solid Edge": --> It works!!!
It's all the same file, 2 times error, 1 time thumb up.
But the 3 routines how to open a file seems to use different NX-internal-functions. (Which is just to rename the stupid german "Umlaut" into an ascii char)
Shouldn't it be easy for a programmer to use the same function within all "Open-routines"?
Now you could ask, why don't you use this workaround then?
Well, the answer is:
1. The interoperability is not working automatically.
2. The workaround (way 3) works with SE parts, but it fails with SE-assemblys containing parts which use german "Umlaut"
And this point 2 means totally K.O. for the whole system, cause it's impossible then to open such of assembly.
Hopefully someone could help us.
Until then, nice weekend for all of you over there....
