We are currently machining HRS details from prints that are in German. The following statement appears on all prints: Fertigteil chemisch vernickelt Schichtdicke 40 um. Flache 33.26 dm2. I have assumed the first statement to mean "chemical nickel plating, 40 micron thickness". I am having a hard time understanding the second sentence. The number does change with each detail. Could it be the area?

Yes, Flache means area.

Use dict.leo.org for translations, it is a very good online dictionary.

dm means dezimeter which is 1/10th of a meter.

So 1 dm2 is roundabout 1/9th sqarefoot.

The rest of the translation is correct.
