Girders Vs Secondary Beams

hi fellows
can any one tell me how to model a girder carrying a beam using sap2000 ??

when i model two crossing beams the program solve it as two beams interaction together, i NEED to determine that one of them is a support of the other !! is that possible ??

You can select the beam(s) and Assign moment and/or shear releases using Assign menu>Frame> Releases.

In version 8, SAP2000 now treats a continous girder which is intersected by secondary beams as a single physical member for analysis in design. In previous versions, you have to divide the girder into multiple sections in order to connect beams
